Methmine™ VPN — Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy is part of your agreement with METHMINE LLC for Methmine VPN (the Company Terms, section 4, and the Product Schedule). It applies to everyone who uses the Service. We built Methmine VPN to protect people's privacy and their access to the open internet. Using it to harm others puts that at risk for everyone, and is not allowed.
1. Prohibited uses
You may not use the Service, or help or allow anyone else to use it, to:
1.1. Break the law. Engage in, promote or facilitate any activity that is illegal where you are, where we are, or where the target of the activity is, or that violates sanctions or export control laws.
1.2. Exploit children. Create, access, store, send or distribute child sexual abuse material, or groom, exploit or endanger minors in any way. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to other authorities as the law requires.
1.3. Threaten or harm people. Threaten, harass, stalk, dox or intimidate anyone; incite or promote violence or terrorism; or distribute content that does so.
1.4. Send spam. Send unsolicited bulk messages of any kind (email, messaging, comments, calls), run mass account registrations, or operate or promote spam infrastructure.
1.5. Attack networks or systems. Gain or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system or network; scan ports or probe for vulnerabilities on systems you are not authorized to test; launch or take part in denial-of-service attacks; brute-force or credential-stuffing attacks; intercept traffic of others; or run botnets or command-and-control servers.
1.6. Spread malware. Create, host, send or control viruses, ransomware, spyware, trojans or other malicious code.
1.7. Defraud. Commit or facilitate fraud, phishing, identity theft, payment card fraud, account takeover, money laundering or other deceptive practices, or impersonate any person or organization.
1.8. Infringe rights. Infringe or misappropriate the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of others, including by distributing copyrighted material without authorization.
1.9. Abuse the Service. Circumvent device, data or trial limits; create multiple accounts to obtain more trials or features; share, resell or sublicense access; extract and reuse connection credentials; interfere with or overload our servers or the experience of other users; probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service without our written permission (see section 5); or access our programming interfaces other than through our apps.
2. Network measures
To prevent abuse, we may block or restrict certain ports, protocols or destinations on some or all servers (for example, outgoing mail on port 25), apply reasonable limits to protect the Service for all users, and restrict peer-to-peer traffic on some servers. Where a measure affects ordinary use, we describe it in the app or in support.
3. Enforcement
3.1. If we reasonably believe that this Policy has been broken, we may, depending on how serious the breach is: warn you; limit features or speed; block destinations or ports; revoke devices; suspend your account; or close your account (Company Terms 4.2 and 8.2; Product Schedule 12). For the most serious breaches, such as those in 1.2, we may close an account immediately and without notice.
3.2. Where the law allows and it does not put others at risk, we tell you the reason for an action and you can ask for a review by writing to contact@methmine.com (subject "Abuse report").
3.3. Repeat infringers. We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of copyright.
3.4. Our no-logs design applies to enforcement too. We do not log the websites you visit, your traffic or which user used a server's IP address at a given time (see the Privacy Notice), and we will not start logging an individual's activity to investigate a report unless the law requires us to. We act on what we can verify, which is why some of the measures above apply to a server or a destination rather than to a person.
4. Reporting abuse
4.1. To report abuse coming from our servers, write to contact@methmine.com with the subject "Abuse report". Please include:
- the IP address of our server, and the date, time and time zone of the activity;
- the destination IP address, port and protocol, if relevant;
- a description of the activity and any evidence (for example log excerpts with the relevant lines);
- your contact details.
4.2. We review reports promptly and act under section 3. Because of how the Service works (section 3.4), we usually cannot tell you which user was involved, and we will not tell you which action we took against a particular account.
4.3. Copyright notices (Company Terms 6.5) go to contact@methmine.com with the subject "Legal notice", and must contain the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3). The Service transmits traffic and does not host content; we act on valid notices as that law requires.
4.4. Requests from authorities go to contact@methmine.com with the subject "Legal notice". How we handle them is described in the Privacy Notice, section 8.
5. Security research
If you have found a security vulnerability in the Service, please report it to contact@methmine.com with the subject "Security" before disclosing it. We will not pursue good-faith research that respects our users' privacy, does not disrupt the Service, does not access more data than needed to show the problem, and gives us a reasonable time to fix it.
6. Changes
We may update this Policy as described in Company Terms 7.2. Changes needed to address security, fraud or abuse may take effect sooner; we still tell you about them.
This Policy is written in English, and the English version is binding. Translations are for convenience.
